well it was my first ring trip, and i was going over in a full striped 205,
paul (3dr-rally-slag) was my passenger, and my mate karl and his mate simon came over with us in a 57 plate RS4 Convertible
so there was a slight diffrence in machinary

but we set off 1am friday morning 29th of august, heading for a 7am ferry from dover to bolugne.
we had no issues what so ever and got to dover with an hour or so to spare
i was pleased the reliablility of the 205 was still going strong
on the ferry we met up with Jonnybravo (and his bag) alpina wes and (i forgot the other lads name
)
here is a picture after the ferry crossing

i think i was the odd one out
we then set off for the ring, was a steady 80 at first, the lads a few blasts, while they did i just cruised at 100..lol and it was steady a rock
all the time cruising the 205 was returning 36mpg

hotel was 100yrds of so from ring, so that was awesome
as soon as we got there, i setabout changing to work clothes and ripping the 205 apart, i have been having issues with my adj TCA's and i wasn't comfortable with them, so swapped back to stad arms, setup the tracking and then went on the ring
first lap, was proper scary, car was fine, but my god i didn't realise the slopes and inclines

but i did the lap, no off's and i reckon i must have been loom 8's
well when i say low 8's i mean 18 something

saturday came and the first people out, had a major pillup and shut the ring for several hours
i just found a clip of part of the carnage
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xUkK21JQmOk
6 in total, 2 bikes and 4 cars
anyhow, track opened and i had my second lap, the idea of this was to film the RS4, but he was just a bit to quick for me so filmed him for a bit then he went on
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=s7XGokBx7XE
we missed he first part, but i's around the 11min time
as you can see i dont know the lines of the track and took my time
here is lap 4, bit longer than the above so it's in 2 parts
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0QuvjuFz9mo
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=c19Slh3gFBc
just to add, the track was a bit scary but was great, the whole ring trip was amazing, and i will be going back
the 205 drove home, and was absolutly 100% and reliable
who says french cars are crap

there is so much more i could probably type, but i wont bore you with all the great details, like michael schumaker taxi ride's

Mr hurricane

Cool little review and awesome collection of photos Spikester
That Lambo looks proper serious!
Crash of the Porka looked VERY bad, you could see the oil as the camera car headed towards it, but guess the Porsche driver didn't
Glad to hear the little Puggy handled it well
Where was the track painting done? I'll look out for it next time I'm there.

the prima colouered lambo was stunning,
the bonnet, side panels wing mirrors spoiler, splitters and defusers were all carbon fibre

i never even got a look in the window, as i assume there was more inside,
VERY expensive car that
the writing is 10feet from the BRIDGE (start)

Must have been some Reno Club thing on at the time - cant imagine why else you'd see a Reno 4 at a track and those 5s are awesome.
Respect to the little 205, isnt it the electrics that fail on french cars though? Yours being stripped wont suffer these problems - you've even cured the 205s leaky roof issue!
Great pics. Really nice to see all those cars from totally different eras mixing it up.

it was the World Renault Series on at the F1 track, which was free enry into the circuit, they even giving away FREE 18" slicks

i have reduced the electrics, and as the engine has different wiring, i guess i sorted most of them
the micture of cars was great

Great pics. I hope to make the trip myself in the not too distant futrue. How may Porsches??!! That BMW M3 looked in abit of a sorry state! Please dont take offense at this, but the 205 looked kind of out of place amongst those cars pictured. Bet it was a hoot round the track though! I've owned a 1.9GTi myself, loved it.

well we walked into the offical nurburgring shop, saw cans on paint and picked on up and the lady said" its fine for tarmac"
she said they dont mind this paint, just dont use road paint
yeah my car was lost with all these, they had wheels worth more than my car
i didn't care, was good fun

I knew it wouldnt be much, but
at the luck of it though
had a great weekend overall

the weather was fantastic

cars needed to be seen to be believed

the scenery at the ring and on the journey over was spectacular

great company, nice to meet you all
only down side i can think of was the lack of female eye candy, but i guess you cant have everything

soooooo many memories (not enough mamories
)- the banter on the radios on the way over, jonny b's handbag, the taxi ride, the steak, mr hurricane, nearly having a heart attack thinking someone was coming down the track while we were signing it then realizing the main road run along side us, constant twintown quotes
gareth you should have come you would have loved it
spiky's car was not that lost there tbh, not all the cars were thoroughbred tarmac terrorists, there were mini buses, vans and the odd std road car including an old citroen zx derv, i just didn't think it was worth taking pics of them
its a long way but if your thinking about going its well worth the effort

sounds like you had a blast, will look out for your tagging, got the bullet cam set for mounting under the front spoiler on the 16i's so should get a good view.
loving all the pics and videos

Ive stayed at Ringhaus. Nice people (though booking a room online is a NIGHTMARE) They did screw up our food order though. So some Norvern Monkeys (also with a Track 205!) had to go without for a while
BUT it is very competitively priced and they all speak fluent English. Even the 13 year old girl (daughter?) that helps out. Even pours pints in the bar. Imagine the shit if a 13year old English person did that over here!
Also check http://www.8200rpm.com/webcam/ Its a link that saves all the webcam pictures, so if you know what times you went out you might be lucky.
