hi lads just a qwick one my mate REX has got a escort cosworth and we are 100% sure that the crawn gear has go as he has had problems with starting for a long time now ...wot i need to no is will a 2wd fly wheel fit as i have one as a spare part i no that the 2wd fly wheel is lighter than the 4x4 one but is there any thing i need to no...... thanks lads

i would take the starter out first,and check the ring gear througth the hole,imo its more likely to be a starter motor fault.and you dont want to take the box out for no reason.

 

we have put 2 starters on today and its doing the same fing . you turn the key it turns over 360. then it sticks then it turns over 360. then it sticks agen and some times the starter spins up you can here its flicked onto the ring and it makes a nasty sound . and thats the same with both of the starters and we have bench tested both of them and there good
