My car has developed a tapping from the head. Its probably a damaged tappet but I'm not sure how much damage this could do. I need to drive the car at the moment, so will I do any damage to the cam etc by still driving it untill I can get it fixed this weekend. I'm also looking at putting a new engine in it anyway so unsure whether to fix it or not for now. It also seems to be using alot of water and I cant seem to find a leak. Connected?

 

Dont drive it, remove rocker cover, remove tappets and inspect (numbering what one goes where) if nothing then i'd remove cam/head

 

could even be the bottom end ??

 

i had that and it was bottom end, dont drive it
