Default Peugeot 206 Rear Beam bearing

Has anyone ever replaced the rear beam bearings on a peugeot 206 the ones that the trailing arms rotate on? If so how difficult was it? special tools etc.

Yeah done a few when I worked at pug, was a few years back though. From what I can remember they were easy.

You might need a slide hammer to get the arm off, and mark the torsion bar on the arm before puching it out. Also Measure the height with the shock off between the centre of the hub and the top of the wheel arch, so you dont accidently lower it! (or raise it)

i do these quite often but find some are so badly worn that the damage is extensive and i just replace the complete rear axle with one from a breakers yard

This brings back memories of my 206 GTi when the main dealer said that the bearings couldn't be replaced on there own and I needed a new back end at £2500!

Bearings from an autoshop £18, Other halfs dad £100, job done!
