Default Arch clearance on 3door with 17's

Whilst the car is in the bodyshop i thought i might aswell get something done with the arches as i intend to run 17's on it (hopefully RS seven spokes) and dont want the tyres rubbing the arches. I would also like to keep the plastic splash guards that fit inside the arches if possible.
I have been told that i will have no rubbing issues with the rear wheels as theres plenty of clearance between them and the arches but that in order to stop the front from rubbing i will need to either fit bump stops to the front suspension or roll the front arches and remove the splash guards as they normally sit on the lip where the inner and outer wings meet.

Can anybody shed any light on this situation for me please and advise me what its best to do?

Hi. I run 17" rs7's on my 3 door and it's set pretty low on coilovers. You won't need to remove the splash guards but you will need to roll the arches at the minimum, I removed the front bodykit, cut the steel arches away, cut the lip off the plastic bodykit and then stuck it back on. My wheels haven't touched the arches since. You might need to trim the bumper a little as well, but it depends how low your car sits. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help, when you say i will need to roll the arches do you mean just the front ones? Like i said i've been told the rears will be ok but would be nice if a few people could confirm this for me just so that i can be sure.

Default 7 spokes

If you run 215/40/17 on the back and 205/40/17 on the front and its not decked to the floor you wont get any rubbibng as i had these fitted on mine. You will need a small apacer on the front to clear the calipers as these were intended for a front wheel drive other than that no worries.

Cheers

fit coilovers and you wont need to trim anything

also 3mm spacers for front wheels to clear caliper

The backs will fit with no mods, regardless of how low you set it. The front however depends on how low you go; but even at standard ride height mine needed the lip removing from the wings.

Mine was on 8x17" at standard ride height and it was miles away, is your on standard shockers as i think the cups sit lower on the those compared to Koni
