Default Arch clearance on 3door with 17's

Whilst the car is in the bodyshop i thought i might aswell get something done with the arches as i intend to run 17's on it (hopefully RS seven spokes) and dont want the tyres rubbing the arches. I would also like to keep the plastic splash guards that fit inside the arches if possible.
I have been told that i will have no rubbing issues with the rear wheels as theres plenty of clearance between them and the arches but that in order to stop the front from rubbing i will need to either fit bump stops to the front suspension or roll the front arches and remove the splash guards as they normally sit on the lip where the inner and outer wings meet.

Can anybody shed any light on this situation for me please and advise me what its best to do?
