Default 2.1 zvh turbo?

Hi all, back with another question!

On looking around for a s2 I've come across a few with a 2.1 zvh turbo engine? What are they from, what sort of power and are they proper conversions or bogged in so to speak?

can anyone enlighten me?

I thought that but it could be a shorter piston giving a little more stroke making 2.1??

Just to make it crystal clear, ZVH is a hybrid engine that you get when you use a 16V Zetec bottom end and a 8V CVH cylinder head. So it's more like a large capacity CVH.

... and at the shorter pistons

the power you get out of a ZVH by large depends upon the management and boost you are running,

The engine make little sence to me, I fail to understand why FWD people think its a great idea to pull off a decent 16v head and replace it with a 8v head which flows less.
You don't get the cossie boys pulling the 16v head of the YB to replace with the SOHC from a 2.0 pinto do you

Mega Torque

Initially was much cheaper to build a ZVH over a ZT. Prices have evened out over last few years to where its pretty stupid to go 8v...

Can't knock a ZVH though, had them in 2 of my Escorts and they both flew

that's why you can knock them to pay money to make alterations to replace a head which comes with the engine for one which unless extensively ported does not come close seems odd.

Ive driven a number of ZVH's and don't think they are a touch on a well built CVH which revs a lot nicer imho

CVH or Zetec are the only choices imho,

The crank dictates the stroke, not the piston!

A well built CVH is pricey though, fair enough they can really rev but won't touch a ZVH for torque....Or power pound for pound.

I'd build a ZT now given the choice but would deffo still buy a ZVH'd escort.

BUT money no object it would be a all steel CVH hands down
