Just wondering if anyone can shed some light for me...

Was out in the S2 tonight, gave it some beans (only up to 5000 RPM)..not too much thrashing in second gear.

Someting went 'pop', and the engine cut out just as I was shifting into third. At first I thought it was the ECU cutting the engine out, or it was terminal... Not so as everything seems fine, no knocks or bangs and it is a very healthy engine (or it was)..

Its getting a spark but appears to be getting no fuel?!?!? Fuel pump runs while cranking over and theres fuel to the metering head..relays and fuses seem ok..
Could it be that the metering head has waived the white flag and given up???

boost hose maybe? mine does it all the time lol

 

Sounds like you might have popped a boost hose? Have you checked to make sure they are all still securely fitted?

 

Yeah, checked them all lads...its turns over but wont fire up.

Spring/clip under the flap on metering unit mate, had exactly same thing happen to me before. Try getting a mate to start it while you hold the flap on the metering unit down a little, should fire straight up. If i does its knackered, i bought new metering unit and mine been sound since. Hope this helps you out mate.

Re-checked the boost hoses this morning and the bottom hose from the turbo to the IC had poped off!!!! How much of a tit do I feel for not checking properly!

How relieved am I.....Thought i'd screwed it lastnight! Was kinda panicing like fek.
