hi all
hope someone can help me with a puzzling matter
fitted an oil pressure guage today on my mates rsturbo (88) done oil/filter change(15w50 mobile 1) on start up the pressure was 49/50psi on idle and 60 with a rev
and when warm 18 idle and 30/34 @ 2k upwards which i thought was just a tad low at revs so had a little look for leaks and right oil level ect ect
when i came to the oil pump i thought i would check the pressure relief valve spring removed the lug with an 8mm allen key and found nothing no spring which i thought was atached to the valve itself i even put and allen key about 100mm down the hole to find spring but no joy
what i need to know is the oil pump without the pressure relief valve bad or is this somethink new people do well he has parked the car up and want drive it for now so i thought i would ask on here as puzzled
i thought no relief valve would cause low pressure just like if the valve gets stuck open which i came across before
any help would be grateful ladies and gents

My FRST Idles at 8-10 psi when fully heated up. then increases approximately 10psi per 1000 RPM.

I'm using 10-40 oil.

Cant help you on the relife valve question though.

got a valve and spring and just fitted them and the oil pressure is sorted now
and is more like yours jammy86 but when fully warmed up sits about 15 psi at idle
