Default Can i run a Stage 3 Hybrid like this? >>>

Well after 3 weeks of first time RS ownership my turbo has blew up
Got the chance of a cheap Stage 3 so just wondering how it would run: basically my car is pretty much standard apart from 1.8 Zetec bottom end, full Scorpion, Dumpvalve, K&N and as far as i know it hasnt been chipped.
Just worried about the lag? Thanks, Joe

yeah around 10psi std.

i suppose james is right about the lag if you keep the revs up, but that aint always possible!

depends really on your future plans, and the price of the stg3!

if your new to rs ownership then i would suggest you have the blown turbo looked at.
an expert company will be able to tell you what caused the failure. if it's just wear and tear then fine, but if it's something else then you'll need to get that fixed first otherwise your new turbo will go the same way

Yea i know what possibly caused it, a dodgy oil return pipe. But that is all being sorted when it goes to the garage, im just really wondering what its going to be like to drive with this Turbo on compared to the standard turbo before? an in is it going to be going to be horribly undriveable or really slow between gearchanges?
I dont dont really have anything amazing planned for the future just having it chipped. Thanks, Joe

i don't think it will be that much different to your old one to be honest. you may find spool up is just slightly slower but if your running standard-ish boost
there won't be much difference. you will be better off when you come to chip it though cos the tuning bug is very contageous and no doubt you'll be planning this and that when you get power hungry. at least you'll have one of the main ingredients to run big power ready and waiting. all you'll need is a larger intercooler and you should see about 175bhp or so at about 15 psi with the chip, maybe even more

with the dodgy oil return, definitely do an oil change and probably a good flush out wouldn't hurt. i would possibly have your oil pressure checked as well, might be a dodgy oil pump causing starvation. never really heard of a return causing failure but hey , they are built by ford

anyway good luck with the turbs
