Default Insurance question(dropping different engines in)

Ive been looking at a mk6 escort which started life as a 1.6 finesse, its now got a GTi kit and a 2.0 dropped in with some RS2000 bits and bobs like brakes etc.
He says its still down as a 1.6 on the logbook so could i tell the insurance company its a 1.6 as per the logbook or would the insurance be void if the worst happened?
If i do have to tell them then id have to reel off a huge list of parts over the phone i guess

Your policy would be void if you diddnt declare an engine conversion in the even of a claim, your best off being 100% honest when it comes down to insurnace.

Some insurers will load for a modded car, some won't insure at all.
I have in the past tried to insure a mondeo that I put a recon engine(I did) in, they said modified straight away, even though it was 100% std apart from 0.5mm oversize, and wanted to load 60%, that was Privelege, spoke to(one of) thier underwriter lady and she said treat as normal.
