slightest threat of thunder or lightning and it shits itself and wont come on till it's gone. It's as if it runs and hides under the bed cus its afraid

Quality thunder storm at the minute tho, must be pretty close, only a couple of seconds between the flashes and bang

 

My mum and dad had the same problem...... Sky fitted a complete new dish and a new HD box..... Ł65 call out charge as it was all 3 years old

 

Its not sky thats the problem but the size of the dish, larger is always better.

Same here every time its bad rain.

 

no problems here with reception. and if you tell them to cancel your contract they usually cancel any call out charges. they even supplied me witha free replacement decoder after mine fucked up.

i have virgin media upstairs as well as sky downstairs so im doubley smug as both work fine .

 

INlaws had this problem. You only had to say rain and the picture went. Sky tried to blame it on the tree's and in fact anything other than their kit. It's one of the main reasons we went with NTL/Virgin.

 

you should turn the power of to items like this when thunder or lightning happends


how old is your system and what is it doing i may be able to help you as ive worked for sky

 

i had this problem ona new install. rang them, they sent someone out and fixed it. no hassle

 

It just says no signal from satellite

RING THEM

do it whilst the problem is happeneing, they can check stuff out adn work out whats wrong, there may even be some buttons you can press to reset the LNB and fix it

 

thats why i want him to ring me so i can tel him

It's weird how this only ever happens during an electrical storm.

 

i had that with a code number. my box was fooked. sky gave me a new one free.

must admit trees are everywhere in hertfordshire,,,,, so if that is a reason you cant deny theres some local pmsl

 

mine kept coming up no signal,i changed the end at dish in case of dampness,no change

i borrowed a working box no change

and the dish was fitted well before we moved in,

phoned complained they say Ł65 call out charge

i say look the box is fine cable is fine its the fukn old dish i should of had a new one when i subscribed

eventually they agree to come out,turns out.................he says my neighbours trees have grown and stopping signal...................WHAT THE FUK

he moved it up a foot and now ok

 

i just pulled the power out of the back for a couple of minutes then turned it back on..... it's sound now, but like i said the storm has gone so dont know if its still got probleams. I 'm gonna call em tomorrow and order an HD box. This is a first gen +box, had it ages.
