Default Fuelling problem help techies!!!

Right its a scoobie but not asking there as never can get any tech answers there....


My95 classic scoobie (missis car) has been sat a week as she been away with work.

Come to start up and its lumpy etc. Wideband is either lean as fuck (18.1) or its all over the scale lean rich lean rich like mad. LC1 is controlling what ecu is seeing (inplace of standard lambda) and shows no fault on calibration, engine temp sensor is new, does it on lambda control and wot but no engine check light.

Any ideas???? ive put frsh fuel in too


Any idea where diagnostic plug is on scoobs?? i can then connect up lappy and see what sensors are showing ecu

diag sockets under drivers side. have you tried disconnecting the wideband?

disconnecting wdeband would put it into limp so no i havnt, might put std lambda back in and fit boss and run both see if helps

i shouldnt think it would go into limp disconnecting lambda would just stay open loop and put light on. id say id plug our jap machine in and have a look but it was nicked out of my van on friday! have you checked the output to ecu with a multimeter yet to see if its switching properly?

I'd re-calibrate the LC1 - i've seen this happen before with them, they can lose their calibration.

not done a free air calibration, not checked outputs either, will disconnect lambda in morn and then will try to find diag plug again and see what laptop comes up with

LC-1's can be very problematic.

Either throw a narrowband back in, or leave it unplugged and try it.

Although a description better than lumpy might help. Is it off cylinders ? At idle, or all the time ?
Will it drive ?

Have you checked the coils and plugs ? These can often be damaged when people are fitting plugs. Over time the coils can go brittle, and it doesnt take much to break them. People also lose the rubber insulating boots somehow, or damage them.

You wont be connecting a laptop up easily....unless you develop some software to do it lol.

But there are connectors under the dash that will flash any fault codes. Very easy to do, although if the CEL isnt on, then chances are things are ok.
