just bought some parts guys for my series 1 shell
steering rack
heater box and matrix
pedal box
front anti roll bar bracket big alloy one
both adjustable tie bars
alloy bush type swivel clamps for the front bar
mint mk3 bonnet genuine
aftermarket front panel and wings with slight surface rust but offered up and fit bang on
rear cluster
rear gearbox mount and bracket
front gearbox mount
steering column intact
full lockset on one key

i gave 350 for the lot i think it was reasonable
what do you guys think

seriously now lol was it ok mate as never bought s1 bits before as always had mk4s

 

doesnt strike me as cheap but you get what you pay for spose

 

i rang ford breakers and they wanted 100 plus vat for the alloy front bracket but said they were hard to get now and havent had any in for a few year as they were often swapped for 3i setup

 

dosent seem cheap to me, if they were all genuine panels then yes but aftermarket ones are cheap to buy anyway and most of the other stuff can be found on a base model mk3 in a scrappy (if u know a scrappy with mk3's in)

Buy all that stuff separately and see if you can get it for 350

base models use different running gear i agree with what you are saying with the pedal box etc but i cannot find a mk3 in scrap yard for love nor money struggled with the mk4s

 

hence why i put the

im quite lucky as i know a scrappy near me that only deals in old cars due to all the other scrappys near by dealing in newer stuff

 

all round me are full of french crap and new stuff seems like (why keep a old escort taking up space when i can get 130 in scrap for it so they dont even get took off the lowloaders) thats the response i get when i ask so finding mk3 bits near me is hard though i know a guy with a mk3 ghia might go buy it its sat in a field be handy for odds and sods and think i will break it too
