its been resparyed. the roof looks black and the sides look smokestone.

on the log book it just says black. is there any way of telling what colour it should be as im gunna get a load of body work done and i want it the correct colour again

 

Look under the back seat, behind the wheel arch covers etc...?? Failing thatyou could ask your local ford dealership to run the chassis number through there computer.

 

isnt there a plate with the paint code? walk int o halfords, give them the number and they can tell you on the paint mixing machine

 

at the bottom of your vin plate the 3rd one in you will either have a number or letter!what is it?should have "fabre,colour,coluleur"under the box

defo not blue and has never had a colour change according to hpi. and under the back seats is black?? i checked the vin plate matched the logbook. and the log book say black lol.

I agree that D = '87 Galaxy Blue. The only blacks are A - Black 69 and M - the rare Ash Black. Flint Grey was T so I doubt if that is a confusion?

I am away for a few days but check on my return - am confused

On the body panel (right hand side of the slam panel) is a word - mine is Crystal Blauw - German for Crystal Blue. Hey presto, the original colour - provided it's not been tampered with

 

right starting to shed some like on this now. i would apper that the vin plate is not origanal. it is a ford backing but someone has filled it in them self. there is also no date stamp on the slam pannel or the driverside wing so all i can think of is the car had some sort of crash there and thats why the vin plate has been tampered with.

gunna take the carpet up tommorow and have a look just incase the car has been re shell or ringed or something like taht. fingers crossed it hasn't though.

im also going to go to fords and see if they will make me a new vin plate. hopelfully they will be able to run one off and it will have the original info on it.

They do, they are around £50 if i remember correctly. You need to supply your logbook too. Safest bet is to buy a proper german plate off ebay and get ford to stamp it up for you.
