non ford BUT,mx5 engine options ?
There was a BBR kit fitted to a limited run of Mx5s from new.
There are also quite a few low pressure bolt on turbo kits available [loads from America].
The only gearbox upgrade I've personally ever paid any attention to is to fit the 6 speed from the later cars.
There've been at least one Cosworth powered Mx5s in this country already and I've seen V8 miatas on US websites, may be worth googling it.
Try here for extra info on the UK scene: www.mx5ocforum.co.uk
I went to an Mx5 meet quite a few years ago organised via that site and I was the youngest there by about 400 years
But that's not to dismiss the site or any of the advice given on there!
Old people still have a lot to give to society.
