At least they are fixing it - and if it really goes tits up and they cant you can get your money back!

As said above if you'd gone private that would have been your problem.

Yeah, fair play to them for sorting it out. The plus side is you'll have a fresh engine, the downside is waiting to pick it up. Out of curiosity who is the garage? They sound like a fair bunch to deal with ...

Yeah money back, not fit for use/purpose.
Sure a search online will throw up your rights etc.
I don't think they're being especially good, just doing what they're obligated to.

Love this thread, a garage bending over backwards to help someone and everyone shouting get your money back/wankers. No wonder some garages just say fuck them

there in this for the money theres every chance a corner will be cut if its possible, most garages refer you to the warrentee.

they are being v good i must admit sounds great but... i think id still walk, he has every grounds to, although would be hard to get out of

i can understand sitting it out giving them a chance, unless its a main dealer id be a small bit concerned

mate not all garages are full of conmen, this is a importer of jap cars,,, i bought my car from one and he PRIDES he rep soo much that the car i bought was a car he imported 5 years ago and sold it to the customer whi then part ex'd it back for a forester due to the blokes service,,,,, and my scoobie has given me no trouble apart from a split rad and a fucking high fuel bill

if they ARE conserned then they would not let him have it back till its fixed,,,,, some places just want it out the way and use the " take if and test it for a few weeks and tell me how it goes,,,, the rattle will settle after a few running in miles " bullshite

id say the blokes doing hes best,,,, not the usual dealer that there has been in the past,,,, but then again rogue traders in the car game have moved onto property rentels ive noticed

If everyone walked without giving a garage a chance to repair a problem there would be no garages left! You have to give people a chance to correct things, I had a problem with a 5th injector from MSD, would you still say I should have asked for my money back or given Stu a chance to repair it with first class service?
