Default no power to fuel pump relay ?? rs turbo

hi as above.

a mate has come to start his fiesta after 6 months storage, restoration starts tommorow.

but it wont start, there is no positive feed to the fuel pump. when a direct feed is put to the pump the car will start !!
i assume the red relay is the fuel pump relay ? ( same as pink on my s2 escort) there is no power to the relay.

any ideas what the problem is ? it drove in the garage ok,
is there a fuel cut off switch some where on the car or something ?

please help
thanks

relay should be green under the drivers side dash and there is a fuel cut off in the pasenger side foot well behind the little flap

Depends if its an early or a late FRST, my one is an early (pre-93) and it has 2 relays one was yellow and one was grey/metal, change both to start with.

Fuel cut off switch is behind flap in passenger side footwell, just make sure button is pressed down on it.
