If you are looking for something good to protect it that lasts for a while i would go with your SRP and then go over that with some Collinite 476 which is a long lasting sealant/wax.

What about these paint protector things?
Diamondbrite and the like?

Supposedly never need polishing..etc..etc.. just a top-up every few years.

Polishing with polish is polishing, not waxing lol.

Paint protectors are just cons, if they were good the experts would use it, and not the car cleaners at garages.

As stated colinite is very durable, as is poorboys ex-p sealant.
Typically sealant will last longer.

just find that works best for me and dont have to spend a fortune as autoglymm is cheap compared with other products i tried meguires but did nt like it was very hard work to buff off without leaving streeks

Hitch - it works out more expensive as it either doesn't last as long, or do as good a job, or you need to use more each time, or you soon get pissed off and buy something decent!

Tom - Polish you work/rub, wax you apply lightly in straight lines.
Only applying it to sit on paint, as opposed to trying to achieve and cleaning or correction.
Wax is after polish, wax is your last stage to seal and protect the paint.

i've use meguires carnaube wax, apply by hand, the best way after polishing, then allow to dry for a little while and them buff off gently with a good clean cloth.

Autoglym SR polish is slightly abrasive. Try Poorboys polish instead finished with Collinite or Dodo Juice.

Very easy to use, and gives a decent enough finish, but can almost see the protection evaporating mate.
Works out far cheaper to use a more expensive quality wax/sealant.
Lot less work too.

I use Meguiars Mirror Glaze Paste wax and very impressed with it. Used it on my car a couple of times and once on the old man's BMW and loved the shine! Makes paint work feel super smooth as well!

About Ł16 a pot I think. Lasts about 5-7 uses I reckon, depends how much you use.
