oil pressure problem

oil pressure problem
in my series 2 the engine is sounding sore wen reving the timing is fine and i thought to myself would be lifter so replaced the lifters and fully rebuilt the head,,,, but wen on idle my oil lightis flickering on the dash and i am now gettin a splutter before the turbo spools ,,,,,,, am i right in thinking its the oil pump?

oil pump for sure
just taken mine off the road for the same reasons.

low oil pressure doesnt always mean oil pump,pressure is created thru the big end and main bearings,hence when they start to knock and ware,the oil light flickers on idle
