Default Anyone work for VW needs to check some details

there is a golf for sale and he said he bought it 3 weeks ago to sell,

it was a lease car and it's not in his name

and says the service history was done in VW but not stamped, yet he has a document from VW saying it has been

now, to me it says dodgy as hell all over it but, just wanted to check

he says he not a trader, yet, why is it not in his own name????

With ex lease cars, the lease company send of the red/trader bit of the log book usually and give you the rest to the buyer of the vehicle. If the person that had the comp car was a scatter brain and never handed the service book to the garage then it wouldn't be stamped. Both VW and the Lease comp should be able to verify this, so give them a call.

Its no big deal and not a crime if the person wants to try and top up their wages.

Personally I'd call the lease company and see if they have a similar car to the one you want for sale

its fairly common place not to always put the vehicle in your own name for varying reasons

1) if he buy and sells cars to make some ŁŁ on the side; the tax man cannot get his hands on it. Basically he's a trader
2) dont want to add to the previous owners total if he's only keeping it for a matter of days
