Default Spring rates for coilovers on 3dr sierra?

Hi to all,

I'm going to convert my yellow Koni adjustables into coilovers, but have no idea what spring rates I need to run. They are for a 3dr sierra, without front ARB(compression struts) and Escos rear ARB .
It is a 100% track car, so want stiff as possible ,without negative effects on the handling. Can somebody say more or less for what rates should I look for?

Thanks.

ok,
My std AVO coilover as supplied with springs are 300lb 9" long FRONT, 200lb 12" long rear.
I am going to put slightly harder on the rear, as I find them a little soft.
I would phone AVO on 01604 708101.
Avo do some dedicated track stuff and are very good, MR Mike Rainbird uses them, he of R&B Motorsport, so he would be able to give you better advice.

I run spring rates completely the opposite to Tabs, so perhaps my advice isn't so good . I personally think that the spring rates supplied as OE by both Gaz and AVO is rubbish (too soft on the front and too hard on the rear), so spec them completely differently when you buy them from me .

However, I good do you some GAZ budget coilovers for Ł555 delivered to Spain, with the correct spring rates to suit what I would recommend for fast road use .

Yes it does, but I have the rates of the the GAZ / AVOs, hence why I spec the springs differently to what they supply.

It comes free with any kit ordered and also depends on what the customer wants from the car / what car it is.

You'd need to send me a detailed email / pm of what you want from the car, how it handles at the moment and what dampers / spring rates you currently have and what you want it to do (that it currently doesn't) and / or what you don't want it to do (that it currently does).

Not to mention how much it weighs or ideally sprung and un sprung weight.

Obviously if that is available, otherwise I would assume that a Sapphire 2wd with mods that I can see in his signature is going to be around 1275kg.

Just to throw another variable in to the mix, tyre type.

Road, semi-slick or slick all make a big difference too...

Most definitely - track tyres require stiffer suspension .
