Default Fiesta 1.25 Hesitation Problem

Hi, im new.

I bought a little run around fiesta 1.25 16v Zetec last night.

When you accelerate the car seems to miss\hold back for a split second before it goes. It does this throughout the rev range, it's driveable but very annoying as the car should be so much quicker.

Also when it got to 4000revs it was almost like it had hit the limiter, just went flat. Then it's fine, then it's not again.

It doesnt stall or cut out but at idle the revs tinker very slightly up and down.

I will be changing the fuel filter tonight and giving it an oil service. Any ideas what the hesitation problem could be?

Someone suggested mis-aligned throttle sensor?
What about cleaning the MAF with carb cleaner?

Cheers

New plugs have cured the hestitation problem.

Now it just gets to 4000rpm and holds back loads.

get sum 1 to rev it hard and hold your hand close to the exhaust in the line of the gasses if bits are flying out your exhaust (usually hot bits that make ya jump) the cat is knackered

FIXED!!

Took the MAF sensor off and cleaned the shit off the element with a cotton bud and carb cleaner.

No more holding back, from 4000rpm it pulls hard.

Thanks for the help.

Maf will be between air box and inlet somewhere, should see a multiplug going to it, they are an alloy body with a juby clip either side where the trunking is.
