my s2 has been sat over the winter ive now fitted a gotech it will start and run but only for a few seconds at a time, it also misfires as if its lean the only idea i have is that the fuel pump is priming but not pumping when the engine is running so it will run until the fuel rail is empty?it stalls if you increase the throttle and wont idle, i can hear the pump prime im just stuck for ideas?

thats exactly the same problem as my 1.8 zetec in my mk3....

im stumped for ideas too....

changed the plugs, leads, coilpack, checked all the wiring......

 

Although im thinking now its a dodgy injector......

 

same problem with mine but it just dont start i checked the plugs fuel is gettin to the engine just aint firing up

 

what makes you think that?do you mean dead injector or just flowing badly?could be the same though mine is running on all 4 and when it is running it seems ok, it just dies gradually after a few seconds doing my head in now

 

well mine starts ok, idles for a few minutes perfect, rev it up a few times and your thinking yes lets be on! Rev it again and it starts to run on 3, then it starts to misfire, pop and eventually die a few seconds later....
