Last question hopefully before its running!!

I keep reading in posts that Focus RS spark plugs "Denso Iridium itv24" are the ones for zetec turbo builds aiming for 300bhp.

How is this so when the thread is only half the length of the standard mondeo ones (PTR5A-10) that i'll be running it in on.

The Focus RS plugs don't look too short on thread to me:

 

i was in the car parts shop a while back with R6Franky looking at plugs, we asked to compare a focus RS plug with a zetec plug and as he says they were very different lengths... the guy in the car parts shop mustve had the wrong plugs out for us

You haven't posted a pic of a Mk1 mondeo (silver top) plug in the picture. Which is what I'm comparing the Focus RS Plug too. Red16 didn't realise that before he replied.

If the thread on the RS plug (in picture) is only half the length of the Mondeo plug as you state, I'm having a hard time believing it's double that length! I'm for one using the RS Focus plugs, and they fit perfectly to a standard silver top Mondeo zetec head. You must have compared the wrong plugs. You can fast google some pics of both of these and they look pretty much the same length.

 

the rs focus plug looks the same as the zetec plug hope this helps
