Yes... Reason being lots of people look there first... I admit I do, But only to find out more about a car.

Usually alot more detail on a car on ebay inc lots of pics, than you can get off Autotrader...

Trouble is there are lots of duff cars on ebay....

Never sold a car on there but sold my bike straight away.

I think its 12 quid for a classified ad and that stays on for 28 days so excellent value for money imo.

Ive just "sold" my pickup truck on ebay a few days ago, but all ive had so far is a phonecall from the buyer saying he will let me know when he is coming, still seen no money yet!
Thats a good buyer too, with great feedback, if you sell to someone with zero, you really havent got a leg to stand on as they have nothing to lose if they piss you about.

Thats excatly why classified ad's are better imo. No bidding involved so its just like putting an ad in the paper or autotrader. You will also find that you get more genuine interest with a classified.

This went for 170 quid more than I would have advertised it for though, so if I do get the money off the fella, ive definately done well out of auctioning it IMHO

Im sure that what you say is true for stuff where the price is a lot more obvious though.

i wacked my cossie on there with a low starting price but with a reserve and it sold outside ebay by someone who had seen the add, so we arranged a time, they popped down liked it and bought it str8 away, and for what i wanted, so all in all took a week to sell from start to finish, also just sold my Golf TDI, which actually sold in 2 days of the auction being listed

It does get a lot of viewers, but you get a lot of wasters too, it gave it a go, but it didnt make reserve.
