changing a clutch on a mk4 fiesta
im an apprentice mechanic and was wondering how hard it would be to change the clutch,release bearing, pressure plate and slave cylinder?
the car is a mk4 fiesta zetec 1.25

easy, id replace the shaft seal too since it costs pence.

Not that hard if your handy with a set of spanners, I changed the clutch on my brothers old mk4 1.25 in a day on the floor
will be a lot easier if you can use a ramp though

sorry. U do mean the crankshaft oil seal?

They are easy enough to do. Prob means the seal round the input shaft on th gearbox.

Thats the one mate also called driveshaft seal
When i done my brothers mk4 we had to replace this as once it was all back together it started leaking
only cost a few quid from fords

Yup thas the seal, input shaft seal.... its directly behind the slave cylinder.

if you can then use a ramp. did the clutch on the gf's Ka a few months back and took about 5 hours of cursing and shouting while rolling about on the ground.
did the same job on a fiesta about a year ago using a ramp and took an hour.
