Default CVH34 question

This weekend some of my lifters went off. My freind had a cvh34 kit from Kent in his garage.

As I wanted my car back on the roads quickly, I bought that kit for a good money. I thought too that little more HP would do fine.

After fitting it and have been running the car for a couple of days, I cant feel any different from the original camshaft. Its the same power! I know that piper and Kent cam isent the best for cvh engine but if I should have order from England it would have take a month before I would have get it.

Do I have to fit a adjustable (dont know the name) verneier pulley (camshaft pulley)?
If I do, how will a do to adjust it correct? I dont want the valves to get knocked at the pistons.

you need to get it setup for the new cam etc by adding performance parts you can actually make the car slower if you do not set it up just look at the EG: rolling road days they are standard well setup cars giving more power than a highly modified cars out of tune
