Just bought an RST running a T34 turbo and I believe all these are good for is lag? Im wanting something with a lot less lag but is good for reliable 250/260bhp.

What sort of power should i expect from the T34? The seller reckons he gets 175bhp at 2.2 bar, id expect a lot more from it. What do you think? Not gunna have it on the rollers till ive sorted some things out with it.

i have astage 3 t3/4 running 20psi which is less than 2bar and im gettin 210 @ the wheels

 

Ive got a t34 on my 2.1zvh, aslo had this on my 1600 and it was useless , Is yours 1600 ? ? ?

And 2.2 bar thats over 30psi, something doesnt sound quite right mate

Its that one mate, the car was running 1bar when i saw it today and it ran fast, lots of lag but when it got going it picked up well. Felt around 175bhp to me, certainly quicker than standard. So i think he might of had his wires crossed, I got it for a bargain price so im expecting it to be different to what was advertised if that makes sense? Its running a standard 1600, the sump gasket is leaking and he had it replaced and it leaked again so I think it could push more power when he upped the boost.

The seller wasnt too mechanically minded and had reciepts for the most basic of things so i assume he has his wires crossed somewhere. Might need to find a rolling road and book it in for a power run and diagnosis and see what I need.

 

Im using a TD04-16t from Volvo 850 T5-R on my s2. It has wicked respons and is god up to aprox 280hp.

 

Whats the rest of the engine spec ??

Havent a clue on full spec till it gets delivered tomorrow mate, it does seem a decent spec from the ride and having a good look over it.

2.2 bar is gunna blow me up mate lol It does have a boost gauge and its running 14 PSI which is 1bar iirc. But when he has had it at the track he ups the boost to 2.2 and the guy who built the engine said it will run all day at 2.2 reliably - worries me a bit that lol. The person who built the engine has a visor sticker on the windscreen so before i move it ill look him up and see if he remembers the car and see what he has to say.

Like the idea of the Vovlo turbo though, a mate has one on his renault 5 gtt and his girlfriends clio turbo so i know they are alright, will have to speak to some turbo specialists and see if they can help me.

Its got a little pace intercooler. 1bar is more than enough

 

Buy some of T28's gear

 

Cant go wrong for £1200, just had a full respray, koni adjustables, cossie breaks and a few other bits that make it worth every penny. Think the tuner is ITS Turbos or something like that.

 

You can go VERY wrong with £1200

It could blow up in a week or even a day if its running 2.2.BAR

Best thing to do is get it to a tuner the second you pick it up to get it WELL checked out.

Thats pretty much the plan, the engine is gunna get rebuilt thats why im after advice on what turbo to go for. Id of paid £1200 for a mint shell thats been resprayed and all the other bits im getting that are near enough new so im happy with the sale, might sound madness to most folk but if the engine is being rebuilt I feel I have little to lose
