Default Should i fit MK6 doors?

With the car currently sat in the body shop having lots of panels ripped off for lighter items, its the ideal time to get everything done that could possibly be!!

Conversation started off with the idea of having the door handles colour coded, but now progressed to thinking about changing the doors for MK6 doors.

also looked into getting the smaller wing mirors if i kept my doors, would it bother you (if knowing my car) if the wing mirrors wernt electric?

thoughts on the above!?

Why wouldn't you have the mirrors electric?

With regard to the rest, it's a bit like asking someone to pick a girl for them to date - might not be to your taste - especially if you ended up with Franco .

i saw you had posted and knew it would be something silly.

predictable..... Maybe

because i can get a brand new set of the small mirrors for a very good price but its been led to believe that they arnt electric ones.

also, i thought you were already dating Franco

the mirrors wouldnt be a major prob not being electric really.as the car isnt an everyday car.but is it worth the extra hassle and price to fit mk6 doors just for handle design?

you are a nightmare kelv, that 6 weeks is more 10 now

no major weight saving Dave, would more be for the door handle shape, and id cut out the door as much as possible - just keeping the minimal as possible.

Neil, i know mate - everyday my own goal posts change

Agree
You're going with the WRC look arent you? Didnt the WRC cars have these doors?
And dont listen to Mike, why do you need electic mirrors? Its not like youre going to be adjusting mirrors all day long?
I've got manual mirrors, adjusted them once, done!

Thought the Grp A/WRC cars ran small square shaped stubby mirrors?

Kelv, if your going for weight saving options then why have a heavy electric motor just for electric wing mirrors mate?

For looks only, I wouldn't bother, just get on and finish it and keep it light as possible, i'd personally have keep fit windows and sliders in perspex too mate

rears windows are perspex.

mirrors i can get for Ł20 for the pair none electric - so hardly worth spending years hunting for a set of electric ones or spending a small fortune.

Kind of WRC, front wings only as always wanted the bubble arch's so they are being fitted today, whale tail has been decided on as being left in the garage - lower spoiler only and carbon wolf now!!

just thinking of the MK6 doors for that little touch, if a set can be found easy enough, but heading to the breakers in a mo, been tipped off that theres a GTi up there with heavy rear damage!

Jase, the cars gone from a light front end blow over to new panels and full respray (all bar the roof) so may aswell get these touches done now

inside, front bumper, head light surrounds, grill and washer jet blanks are already painted.

whats a set of front wings sell for?

if i can find a set in time then they will be going on.
few set backs with the car today - bloomin' thing

but on a better note, all the cars wiring loom is now re-directed and hidden, floor looks so much better without any wiring across it

Jase - touchy about what?

I've been thinking the same about the elec mirrors or not and would it bother me and I still can't decide even though I never move them

I decided the other night fuck it get the elec as they are heated too but the manual's are so easy to get for Ł20 I think I'm gonna buy the manuals for as cheap as poss and see how it goes.

I think I would fit the MK6 doors, its not like your interested in origionality and the handles and door cards look better, as for the mirrors how often do you use the electric adjustment now?
