I have fitted lockwood silver dials to my 88 rst but now the fuel gauge is reading wrong its empty but the fuel gauge says its got a quarter of a tank in it?? any ideas what it is ?? As its empty now i am thinking about about taking the plastic cowling off and plastic cover and push the fuel gauge needle onto the red on empty is this right?? please help as this is pissing me off..

 

my mate had the same problem with his temp gauge when he fitted his white dials, he ended up replacing the whole dial is self, its a easy job if it hasnt been soldered in and it should just slide out
