Default FOOKIN FORDS!!!

LOL - the hassle you get with owning a ford rs eh...

right, my escort cosworth (T25) is overboosting,so when this happens the defender cuts the engine as a precaution...fair enough....so i got my hands on a chip (Cheers AJ),its a superchip, the car feels slightly quicker, but it still overboosts the odd time.the boost is sitting on roughly the end of the solid bar on the standard turbo gauge. any ideas? i cant get it set up for another month

turn the boost down perhaps? lol few twists of the actuator rod, et voila :P (make rod LONGER for less boost, this method will be ifine till u can get it setup nextmonth)

you sure its hitting overboost tho and not another problem?

must be hitting a LOT more than std boost to activate overboost on the chip

also EECIV chips have a tendancy to NOT seat very well and cause all sorts of problems, are the connectors where it plugs in all pukka and chip 100% secure? did you remove the "gunk" thats in there as std? (coz u have to)

surely just hitting the edge of the solid bar isnt too much boost? im pretty sure it is the overboost as it only happens when u are booting it lol... maybe the chip isnt secured too well, i did give it a blow...might go out and give it a good cleaning...

The chip runs 18psi so the edge of teh solid bar is actually NOT ENOUGH boost as it should be in the red where all boost gauges belong

Also, the superchip is designed to run with amal unplugged.. is it not chattering?
