Dave, Kenny's car is an Escort aswell - and kitted out with some awesome goodies for track use.

i doubt he will steer you wrong, even if its only his opinion of what to go for and to help you out etc.

Dave

If you don't mind me asking, is it for a track car or your road car?

This pedal box means the complete removal of the original braking system. This wouldn't be a great idea on a road car. I'll send you a photo of the engine bay showing the master cylinders and reservoirs and pics of the pedal box separate.

If it's of any use to you, remember you will need to buy two master cylinders and all the new hoses and connectors. I also have a couple of brand new AP reservoirs here.

you will probably end up spending near to £200. (not including the £75 pedal box).

cheers

Kenny.

To prepare for the pedal box weld in a new plate and paint it.

The cylinders seen from the front, could do with a closer photo.

cheers

Hi Kenny

Thanks for posting the pics.

Yes it is for a track car and want to ditch all the abs system.

A pic of the box would be great. What thickness is the plate you used and was a seperate bit welded to both sides?

Tony at nuts R us gave me another option to convert my pedel box, but not too sure whats best at the moment??

Thanks for the input and link Kelv

Tony at Nuts R us will probably have a lot more experience than me. I only ever fitted one Pedal box and that was it in the photo. (it's coming).

It never gave me any trouble for approx twenty events, thats around 500 km. Go for the best option that suits you. I can send as many photos as you like, and in the end you don't have to buy anything from me. I hope I can help as much as possible.

Also ask M Hadland, he has also done work like this on his car (and others) I believe, if you take the job one step further he could also give you advice on removing the clutch cable and going hydraulic cluch.

Well for your first attempt Kenny, it looks ace,
Looks like you could fit them for a living

I just want the easiest option as never done this myself, re servos tanks and pipes.
Being that yours has come out an escort may be the route to take.

Thanks again for taking the time to post pics, I wish every one was as helpfull.

I seem to be asking loads of people for quotes and answers, but very rarly get any replies.

I havnt got his number Kelv

Spoke to him today via PM when he said he could convert my box, but you know what im like, I dont know enough about it to make the right decision

He sais it would only take about 10 days which is good, but not sure if the standard box is up to the job.

Dave

I think the standard pedal box is up to the job. I'm sure my Pedal box was converted, some parts are cut off, some new parts are welded on, repaint, job finished.

no harm in asking Tony what the job will cost.

to answer an earlier question, my car has a plate welded on the inside 2mm thick, a second plate was then welded onto the engine bay side, approx 1.5mm thick.

cheers

Kenny.

Hi Kev

I will only have a hydraulic clutch this year.

so I have to say no.

what I did was this. when driving on the hillclimbs I didn't like where the position of the clutch pedal was, my foot was moving too far when changing gear, so I added the adjustment in the car. I could pull the lever nearer to the floor using the universan joint adjustment and make the movement a bit shorter. It worked for me.

thats the worst think about modding the car, when one thing is finished the next mod is just waiting to start.

cheers

kenny.
