He sais it would only take about 10 days which is good, but not sure if the standard box is up to the job.

I think the standard pedal box is up to the job. I'm sure my Pedal box was converted, some parts are cut off, some new parts are welded on, repaint, job finished.
no harm in asking Tony what the job will cost.
to answer an earlier question, my car has a plate welded on the inside 2mm thick, a second plate was then welded onto the engine bay side, approx 1.5mm thick.
