not sure mate it was just a quick puff but this is a severe bend and you can only go round it at about 30mph max so its the only time its ever done it

well the drivers side bonnet vent is where the turbo is located so theres a hint as to what it might have been something to do with?

Gary from Portsmouth had fuel spray over onto the turbo somehow and the smoke came out of that vent... as seen at Ford Fair. Check those fuel seals mate - just in case, I know they are on the other side but the pressures are high so it might squirt over like his did. Cant think of much else on the turbo side as said???

I think from recollection Gary said that the fuel came from the fuel rail and squirted over onto the turbo. I'll ask him if I get the chance.

Probably just a bit of oil dripping onto a hot component, ie. turbo or manifold. The very sharp bend, a few drops of oil from somewhere, no major surprise, I've noticed the same myself once or twice.

Didn't get to chat to Gary but yes his was fuel somehow. Fuel rail may have worked loose or seals just perished on the injectors. No pipes appeared loose from what he told me at the time. All worth checking imo - if only for piece of mind eh?

do you have a dump valve ?

back when i had my first cossie i was giving it some right foot action then when i backed off and the dumpvalve went off it misted oil everywhere. Looked like a fine smoke to start with, then realised the oil that cam out of the valve hit the turbo and burnt, hence the smoke

this was obviously without a cold side conversion !

it could be the oil return pipe under the turbo, the gasket there has a habit of failing at times...just somthing to check....
