RS brakes on a 1.8 Zetec??
Hi all, I used to have a 1.8 zetec focus and always wondered if it was possible to stick RS calipers and discs on it...Bearing in mind the rear are drums as standard on the 1.8? Is it do-able, whats involved?

I've literally just had a friend ask me about the same question, about fitting RS front brakes to a 1.8.
I know he doesn't care about the rear drums, but are the front a bolt-on job, or are custom mounting brackets needed for the callipers?

rs calipers, rs driveshafts, rs suspension, rs discs and pads, rs cv joints, rs knuckles and hubs.
by no means a straight swap and expensive as hell.
you are much better off doing an ST170 brake conversion

it can be done , but at the very least youll need st170 hubs and brakets making for the calipers, its not a straight swap even if you fit the hubs , because then you need the suspension aswell shafts etc a said above , far better off just going for the st170 conversion .

Actually I'm afraid both previous are slightly incorrect.
Yes,you have to change the knuckle/hub, but if you fit the ST170 there is no need to change driveshafts, suspension, etc. - the same as a complete ST170 300mm conversion.
You need a 5mm spacer behind the RS Disc to give clearance from the lower arm/ball joint. Then a conversion plate for the calliper and RS brake hose.
