For the users of pre-prepared Bio-diesel , what is the cheapest you have found new veg oil and in what quantitys is it sold? I currently use Tescos own "pura" veg oil, at 59p per litre, but it only comes in 1 litre bottles so is a bit of a pain to refuel quickly ... I'm in the midlands if anyone knows anywhere that sells 25 litre drums cheap, as Makro etc is all about 78p a litre

No cheaper cam, Ł15 for 20 Litres

Just mix it with a bit of normal diesel in the tank Seems to be faster as well

 

59p a litre isnt bad mate i ran a vw tdi on it for 2 years sold it other month already killing me is the petrol bill on my beemer compared to running a derv on oil

 

ive got 40litres of veg oil and diesel mixed sitting in containers in my cossie that i was too tight to leave in my car when i sold it lol

i was using the tesco pura stuff toobut it was 56p a litre in sussex

 

ever had any issues buting 20 x 1L bottles at the same time in tescos?

 

Nope bought 40 last night, perfectly legal, you are allowed to use 2500 litres a year before you are taxed on it

 

i know its legal, but they have a 6 same item at our local on stuff, ive been pulled for buying 10 x 6 packs of pepsi

 

Ive heard of people getting the old oil from fish and chip shops then filtering it to remove the old bits of batter etc before poring it into their car, allegedly this is free because you're helping out the shop by disposing of their waste.

 

Why?? If they are taking the ŁŁ why would they care?

 

never, i used to go in there every couple of days and clear the shelf lol

 

i only ever put veggie in my support vehicle did not mix it at all .cheapest place i found was netto and lidle

 

I used to pay Ł10 for 25L drums from the local chinese

if not nettos at 45p a bottle but its a pain buying 25 at a time

Theres a place in Digbeth Birmingham on Charles Henry street ( opp the old black cab place ), that sells Bio-Diesel for 84.4p a litre out the pump.
