What offset do I need on the wheels to clear 330mm 6 pot wilwoods.

My current wheels are 17" with a 37 offset and they don't go on, I'm thinking about going for 18's but do I need a smaller offset like 33 as I have the chance of some cheapish but they have an offset of 38.

If 33 offset is used with 18's will it cause any clearance broblems with the wheel arches etc, the car is lowered by 30mm and I would use 215/35 tyres.

It is a 4x4 sapphire if it makes any difference.

 

Surely all you need is some spacers, dependant upon what wheels you have. But a 5mm spacer will take you to 33 off set which should be OK.
Don't see the point going to 18" wheels ??

 

I've had bad experience in the past using spacers, causing vibration etc, so trying to avoid them if possible.

 

Use Eilbach hub centric spacers you won't get no problems

got my h&r hub centric jobbies from chris flint aka "cossymad" on here

 

p.s u'll probably need longer wheel studs aswell...........chris will sort them also

 

Some wheels will have more clearance than others, i know some of the OZ wheels have some deep clearance on the spokes, apart from that it will be a case of measuring the caliper to hub space and then going from there. On mine i got 335mm six pot hi-specs and some 8x18 Fox rs5's et35 and they clear no problem

i know he sells the comp mo stuff and can get them ordered in specific offsets if you need them and can probably tell you what you need

the other way is to find out what size spacer you will need to get your wheels to fit and then get a wheel with that offset

 

Judging by your sig I would hazard a guess and say your car is 2wd, 2wd & 4x4 are a different kettle of fish when it comes to fitting big stoppers, ie the 4x4 is a right pain in the harris,

it's the 8mm worth of greater offset that's the fucker

 

as said above 2wd and 4x4 are different.....my wheels fit on a 2wd with the same brakes as mine,but i had to get spacers.......the bells are a different fit/shape

Mine is a 4x4 and I would need huge spacers as the spokes curve in a lot, I measured with washers on the studs and at about 12mm they were still catching, if they were 18's or the spokes were flat would probs get away with 6mm but as is the wheels will have to be replaced.

I would love comp mo's but don't really have that sort of money to spend at the minute so I'm looking for something more suitable secondhand.
