Good ways of measuring tyre depths?

Is there any good tips for easily knowing whether or not the depth is ok? i always poke around with my finger(ooerr) and guess but im never 100% sure.

A tyre depth gauge works well, couple of quid in any auto store, even halfords.

Might pick one up then rather than go to the tyre place and have them tell me i need 4 new ones when i dont

You know that there are wear indicators on the tyre that tell you if they are legal or not?

use a coin in the grooves, thake a pic of all 4 then post them on here then someone maybe able to tell you if they need changing.

Their Toyo Proxes by the way, i shall have a scan on the tyre wall in abit

theyre not on the tyre, inbetween the grooves, you will little rasied blocks here and there, once these are flush with the rest of the tread its the legal limit or below (1.6mm)
