Ok im buying a Van Ex poilce thats been converted into a Camper for doing offroad advents ,

Now i am in the middle of trying to get it insured BUT due to it coming up on the Records its saying its a MINI BUS (witch it was for the poilce) This is putting the insurnce up as its now got no seats ect in there apart from the front 3 is it posable to get the Log Book changed to CAMPER VAN reather then MINI BUS ???

Quote atm is £640 fcomp (as minibus on the logbook) but for a normal van i got £500fcomp

My insurnce canpany are being very good for me im waiting for a call back to see if they can get it down with Stating only 3 seats i will only use it to do 3 or 4 race advents a yr so not going to be used alot

As im starting a New cover without any ncb so far they have given me 45% discount? so are trying there best to lower it for me But i have been with them for 6/7yrs

Every call so far has been on there bill so not cost me a thing so far


Anyway any one know if you can get the log book changed over im guessing it will need to be insecpted to comfirm which is no problem but who does this VOSA or MOT/Plating station

On your V.5 section 7 changes:

Wheelplan / Body type (20);

Put VAN (if it says Minibus in D.3 body type)

In No. Of seats (25);

Put 3.
No of standing places 0

If DVLA want to inspect you will hear from them.

Don't know how long the changes will take to appear on The insurance register though.

You might have to insure as a minibus then change later.

Call will look into whots on there atm as my Uncle owns it

its not alot more to pay but as im not going to be using it alot then would perfer to get it down

 

Dont put it on the V5 as a Van, put it on as a camper as it makes th einsurance cheaper and also the tax.

I'm picking up mine tomorow too
