I personally use Windows Media Player (v11) cos thats what I use for my music anyway. You need a plug in for it - http://www.mgtek.com/dopisp/
Other than that there are loads of standalone programmes;
Anapod - http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/
Yamipod - http://www.yamipod.com/
Sharepod - http://www.sturm.net.nz/website.php?...&Page=SharePod
Google it man

You need to load the plug in from the mgtek web addy I gave you. It gies you a 30 day trial of the softeware, and I liked it so much, that I actually paid the £8.50 or whatever it was to have the fully working version (the trial is fully working, but expires after 30 days and can't be reloaded, so to continue using it you need to buy the full version) All I have to do is plug in the ipod, open WMP, it shows ipod listed, click the sync tab, and then using the library in WMP I highlight what I want to transfer and hit SYNC
Only thing is, you can only do it from the library in WMP, so you have to have it populated. With the Anapod/Yamipod/sharepod type programmes you might be able to use it a bit more freely and simply drag and drop files like you would with a flash memory stick thing....

I must admit the lure of CoverFlow for my downstairs PC is tempting 9cos it's hooked to the TV so would make it "cool" to search music in that way in a jukebox style when people over) but I have just never been a fan of iTunes. It's why I held off for years for getting an iPod - I love my ipod, and think it's possibly one of, if not THE best gadget I have ever bought, but untill I knew I could do it in WMP I wouldn't get one... Glad I can now tho, as iPods rule

You can't do it through the folder view - it, the folder that opens up showing ipod files. You can't transfer music to the ipod that way, as iPods anre not drag n drop. You have to do it through the WMP library. Plug in ipod, open WMP and slick the sync tab. Then you should be viewing the ipod as the device. Click ALBUMS (or artits, songs whatever) on the tree on the left, under the word library.

Highlight what you want to copy to the ipod, for example, I will do everything by one artist. Then right click and select "ADD TO SYNC LIST"

Do this for everything yo uwant to copy, then on the right side (under the list of songs you have added the sync list just hit the SYNC button;

Let it do it's thing, when it's done you need to disconnect the ipod from the PC first - task bar by the clock, little green arrow thing, click once on it and you get a list open of devices connected. Click on the ipod entry and it will pop up a balloon to say it's safe to disconnect the ipod. Wait till ipod screen shows the menu (not the red cross circle) and then unplug it.
Sorted

You just contradicted yourself anyway - drum n bass is NOT music
I like music in the tradtional sense - a bunch of people using talent and learned abilities to play a musical instrument, combining the instruments to create music in it's literal sense. Not some chav in his bedroom using a PC to speed up a smaple as fast as poss and repeating it so much it makes you want to commit suicide

but, horses for courses I guess LOL
