Default Possible engine swaps for the Ka

Hi

appologies if this may be in the wrong section, just finding the forum a bit vast at the moment lol

Right my Ka of the R reg variety has the lovely 1.3 endura in it I know you can fit 2.0 in no problems but the car is only going to be a work hack and pick up parts in. Was thinking more on the lines of a 1.4 16v which will keep it in the cheap tax band but have just about enough power (seems to go well in the puma) to keep it amusing.

Is the Ka based on a MK3 or 4 fiesta? and if I was to drop said 1.4 16v in engine mounts would I need new ones would it drop right in? obviously wiring I assume there would some rewiring needed. Any help is appreciated.

Gavin

It seems more trouble than its worth, you'll probably get raped on the insurance and its only a 1.4.Mounts will need sorting with an SE

The easiest would be an 1800 zetec out of a fiesta.Blakey off here does an adaptor plate to fit a CVH.Then just alter as if you were fitting a zetec to a CVH engined car.
