Default Car insurance & Agreed value

I am with Greenlight and have an agreed value of £5000.
Got my renewal this month and was hoping of getting a bit more but greenlight will not budge.
I think £5000 is a bit low saying The car plus the mods is more than £15000.
So looking to see who some of you lot are insured with and what sort of value have you agreed.

Thanks

Ollie

Hi Ollie,

Id be happy to help and if you wish me to oversee/check into this for you simply PM me your actual name/postcode.

Have you carried out further mods within the last year?

If so, have you applied for an updated re-valuation?

Perhaps you could let me know in the PM.

Kind regards

Tony

Faye that’s not even every bill. That’s just the parts that are on my car atm. God knows what I have spent on this thing
I will have to give HIC a call.

I got the same responce from Greenlight Ollie when my renewal was due, no budging on the agreed value

I'm upto £13k i think But they wouldn't budge on the £5k agreed value

Not good when you think that if something did happen (stolen or accident) you will only get 5k when you have lots more than that in parts on the car. Makes you not want to move it off your drive.

Who are you with now ? Still with greenlight?

Guys,

As mentioned - if you've spent more across the year, forward scan/copy/fax receipts and i'll ensure that the technical boys look at re-valuing with all receipts.

If anyone is experiencing problems - please direct them my way (via PM) and i'll do my best for you.

Kind regards

Tony

I never even had any no claims when i took my policy out with Hic 3 years ago as I had always had trade insurance and it was just over £400 then with 8k value

Spent while on the phone with them customizing the best policy for me which was a classic policy that i can gain up to 3 years no claims on. Really helpfull i don't even ring round when mines up i just renew with them now

Hi Ollie,

Having gone through your garage, printed the data and provided the latest spec to the tech guys.

With your car being the Escort equivalent of 'Trigger's Broom' there will almost certainly be justification for an upward value review.

I'll PM you shortly to progress this.

Kind regards

Tony

Hi SexyRS,

Sorry we couldnt help buddy.

If the trade policy had been in your name (ie. rather than you being a named driver) we do recognise trade NCB.

Also, if you have accrued NCB under Herts classic policy you've done well as most classic car policies dont accrue NCB - so may be worth a quick call to check.

Providing they say "yay" to your having NCB (& assuming that was ok with you) we'd also be able to look at covering you next time around.

Obviously, this is in the basis that we can never have enough SexyRs's covered by us

Kind regards

Tony

Hi BillyCabrio,

Long time no speak.

Would you like me to look at the valuation under your policy in the same way I have for Ollie?

Just PM me if you'd like me to get involved.

Kind regards

Tony

With greenlight does it actually stipulate in the insurance document your agreed valve if your car were to get writen off? Or do you just get told and remember it...

Hi James,

The value would be listed upon your policy schedule, which would also have a specific endorsement (clause) that states the value to be agreed.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Tony
