ATF oil and ATF dextron type whats the difference

will be putting new fluids into my escos soon and ive just been looking at the graham goode site and burton and they both say auto transmission oil for the gearbox 1.2 litres, but graham goode has dextron type ATF oil to be put into transfer box 0.5 litres whats the difference between normal ATF and ATF dextron type ???? also whats the best brand of oil to use

you use ATF DEXRON 3 oil in the transfer box but not in the gearbox (you do on 2wd though)
for 4x4:
0.5 litres of Dexron 3 ATF fluid in the transfer box.
1.3 litres of specific MT75 gear oil, like castrol FMT.
front and rear diffs use 1 litre each of fully synthetic hypoid oil like castrol Taf-X.
