tyre size on rear of saff???

hi..
whats the widest tyre that will fit on he rear of a saff with comp 18s.
was thinking of toyo r888.. its got konis with bayjo springs so not real low.. .

You dont say how wide the wheel is. Im going to be running 8x17 with 235/40/17 888 on mine which i have been told will fit ok

sorry 8 inch wheel.... do you need the arches rolling to fit them..?
they are 215s at the min and look stretched on...

I have 235/40/17 on a 8" rim with Ahmed springs and no arch mods, only ever catchs on inner archs when have a 4 people in car and a full boot.

u dont say what saff.....2wd or 4x4.??????.............cos dont u have to keep them all the same on a 4x4...???????...........

I use 235/40/18 the arches are rolled & then cut-back to clear on hard cornering.

thanks for the help.. its 2wd and im just hoping to make the car grip in the lower gears really . from what i can find the toyo r888 sizes seem to look wider than other brands of the same size..
i have read about the adjustable rear beams and how good they are but others have said that they are a bit ott for a mainly road car..
the car is not as bad for grip as some ive seen but as its not got very good tyres on at the minute it must be an improvement by fitting some good ones..

I run 8" wide on mine with 235 tyres at the mo ! Have rolled the arches but before I run the car so don't know if it would of rubbed or not !

Also try some shims off Mikey Rainbird, a cheap mod to help the dodgy cosworth rear beam if you dont wanna spend a g !

ill have the arches done first before i use the car again.. ive got the shims fitted too...
