Right, my brother lives in Japan and wants to watch the F1, but the coverage over there is shit.
On the ITV website there is a live feed that you can watch it on, but you have to be in the uk.
Is there a proxy he could use easily that will fool ITV site into thinking he is in the uk?

not hiding 'net location, but a device to allow him to watch uk tv anywhere in the world

Does that need a setup in the uk for him watch though?
The way it reads to me, is that you have to have say a sky tv system running in the uk, and that is then sent over the net to where ever you want to view it.

I suppose it does the job, but if he had to buy some hardware, its abit crap that he has to watch what I am!
There must be some proxy that can trick a site into thinking you are in a different country

the hardware needs to be bought in this country.
he doesn't have to watch what you are watching - you can plug your aerial into the slingbox and your tv/freeview or whatever. if an aerial is connected to the slingbox, he can control it to watch any freeview channel using it's built in freeview receiver and whatever you are watching is not affected
if you only have one sky box in the house with no aerial, then yes you both have to watch the same thing which is not great.
sorry i can't help about the proxy thing, but would be interested in finding out also, as i have some friends in germany that would like to be able to watch english tv (technically it's breaking the terms of the broadcasters licence
)

there are a few ip switchers available, unfortunatly i aint tried any of them so i cant say if they work or not

all seem to give the option of changing your ip addy so all he will need then is a uk ip addy i would assume

i haven't used MSN for years so can't remember the details, but it should be quite simple.
you just set up your pc to have the webpage he wants (itv f1) to watch open and then you just allow him to look at (and possibly control) your desktop.
this may help

the desktop sharing thing won't work very well the refresh will be so slow it will be pointless.
I'd say your best going down the dummy IP route so he's actually watching it from the ITV site and not via your PC which will just be an extra bottle neck for him.
