Default Zetec helpppp lol

Iv been thinkin whether to do a 2 litre Zetec conversion or a 2 litre Zvh conversion. And i can out all the ignition and wiring for the zetec lump its just i dont know how you would turbo the zetec 16v head? Im guessing that the 16v head will have more flow than a standard 8v cvh head. So anyone know how to turbo this beasty lump? lol
Any help would be much appreciated lol

Drill and tap and fit an RST manifold and turbo as the ports line up but the bolt holes don't. Or you can buy adapter plates. Zetec head is like "stg 3" cvh head so I been told.

Zetec isn't turbo'd as std though and the mgment can't handle boost, so I'd go for aftermarket mgment, or don't fit the turbo and tune it n/a stylee.

But yeah, for N/A you use the full engine loom from zetec donor, as well as some of the car loom, and you re-wire the fuel pump relay and ignition relay to your ign and perm lives, earth, rev counter, temp guage etc. Then you'll need to fit an injection tank and pump, feed that etc... I do sell the looms ready to "plug and play" though if you're worried about your skills/know how with electrics.

Megasquirt for example is what I'm using on my zetec turbo and you can buy the kits for less than 300 quid, fully mappable ign and fuel, add-ons for boost control fan control water inj etc etc... but you'll still need a loom making up (I do those too btw lol).

Drop me a pm or add me on msn if you wana know more, I got mine running on megasquirt, used a zetec donor loom so if thats the route you're planning I could probably help you save a few quid.

theres loads of info on the web, there was a thread on here a while ago called "where to get megasquirt" or something too.

yeah they come with software, cable, basemap and a short length of loom you hook up to your wiring for sensors, injectors etc.

a standard 2.0l zetec head wont do much more than 220bhp the black top will do a bit more so no its not like a stg3 cvh head BUT the st170 head that will do 350-400 easy so ive been told all in standard trim

The ZETEC head flows relatively well and 270-300bhp should be achievable without any work so long as the rest of the engine is correctly specified and built

The standard silver top heads have been taken to 300bhp in standard trim I believe. Even the standard cams are good to 280+.

Peformance Ford just built a ZT running virtually same spec as mine (low comps, standard head, standard cams) and it dyno'd over 250bhp on a GT28 running 14psi.
Mine is defo pushing over 250 on standard cams etc... too.

Also I beleive the black top heads are also virtually indentical in port size etc...

The ST head is at its standard limit at 400.
