Default Zetec turbo - dyno charts/figures or ignition/fuel maps?

Hi,

I am soon to be running my zetec turbo on Megasquirt and Megajolt engine management.

However I need some information to help me configure a base map.

Does anyone have a dyno print out or power/rpm, torque/rpm readings for a 2ltr zetec turbo (running 14psi if pos)?

These will give me a rough idea of how to map the volumetric efficiency of the engine.

My engine is running 86mm Mahle XE pistons, 8.1 CR and a 4x4 saph t3 (with 360 bearing). Close to that spec would be good but any 2ltr zetec turbo will do.

Or alternatively if any one has any ignition/fuel maps for a similar spec engine that are in a readable or excel format that I could take a look at?

Any help will be much appreciated,

Cheers,

DC

Just out of curiosity... Where are you from? The question doesn't sound like it's coming from UK.
Oh, why would you wan't to run Megasquirt and Megajolt separately? Why not just the Megasquirt'n'spark extra-code?

Nope, I'm from the UK I'm afraid!

I have experience of building and setting up Megajolt before on a pinto engine running bike carbs. From what i understand i can use the tach output from the MJ to feed into the MS?

Tell me more about the MS+S extra code? What mods do i have to make to the standard MS?

Thanks,

DC

Phil,

Cheers mate.

Engine is pretty identical spec wise to yours. I have been following your engine build on here.

Let me know how you get on? I would be happy with 250bhp@14-15psi. What are you expecting?

Thanks,

DC

Not sure really!

The engine is built to take ~300bhp strength wise....though I am expecting similar to yours really.

My boost will be limited to 21psi and my injectors will max out at about 280bhp, but for now I dont want any more really.....

Max out at 280 bhp - standard cossie yellows?

Same as mine!

I'll be ok with 250bhp cos my car only weighs 580kg!

I'm just worried it might be a bit of a ditch finder!

Oh, if it's of any use, I can send you my VE and ignition maps, but I don't know if it really helps, as mine is a 1.6 CVH.

Thanks Jesse,

Now gonna run MS+edis.

The VE map might not be too much help due to size of engine and you running a two valve head where as my zetec is four valve so different breathing characteristics. The ignition map might be helpful though.

If you could mail me both for reference it would be great.

Thanks,

DC

Will do. Remind me if I forget. I'm a bit busy with moving to a new house this weekend.
I'm still running the MS-edis myself, but updating to the extra code loses nothing, but gives plenty of new features including e.g. four 12x12 maps. I'll upgrade as soon as I have time do upload the new software. No hurry though as the management is working flawlessly as it is.

Ok here we go. I forgot I have some pictures on my homepages. I'll update to more recent ones if I remember and when I get my home computer back online.

Hi Jesse,

Thats great. I'm gonna run the extra code with all the added functions and the 12x12 tables.

What sort of injectors are you running?

I'm planning on running a set of stock cosworth yellows. They are low res injectors (2.5 ohm) so I know i will have to add inline reistors. I've heard that this will affect opening time?

Thanks,

Doug.

Ps. You mention home pages? Could i have a link to your web site?

I used the 4wd Cossie blues, but they didn't take me far. I acchieved 100% duty succles already at 0.9 bar boost pressure. Now I have a set of greens which also have a nice resitance of ~4-5 Ohm. Next I'm going for more modern Bosch 0280155830 injectors which are already on their way. 40euros each new with a nice spray pattern. The greens are then going for my Escort in build.

are they from the volvo 5 cyl engine Jesse?

would you have the flow data for them (presumably higher than green 803's?)?

and if you wouldn't mind saying where you are buying them from?

and are they the same fitment as 803's?

75mm standard fittment. From a bloke whose selling them in our local forum. I suppose they are coming from Sweden, so they might Volvo related. On the other hand the blokes nick was BMW-something. So basicly, I have no clue whatsoever. The flow is not far from the greens, that is 390-400cc/min depending of the source of information. I'm just changing because I needed a second set of injectors (old ones go to my Escort), they are new, good price and they are four hole type injectors. Also the 16 Ohm impedance is much easier for the flyback circuitry.
