Well after having some fun removing the engine from the KA on saturday, see here https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=305545 and Rich requiring a gearbox from the KA we decided to get my brother Chris out of bed early this morning (9.30) and swap the engines over on his 2 sierras.
Chris has an XR4x4 tt270 that has a decent engine in it but has some bodywork and paintwork issues, he also has a DOHC saff that looks a bit like a cossie with a poorly engine so we decided that we would swap them over. Hopefully this will be the start of a decent rebuild thread on the saff.
XR4x4

B9KOS Drinking tea just after he arrived, 1 hour late

Pulling it apart

on the floor

Look a turbo

and now back outside without its engine

Next we moved onto removing the engine from the saff, we work going so fast at this stage that we forgot to take a pic of the saff at the start.

Two empty sierra bays, well empty except for some goons

DOHC engine back in the xr just to keep it rolling until it gets stripped and scrapped

getting ready to re fit the v6 in the saff

And its in

Engines swapped, it took us about 5 hours
but they arent running yet

We will be pulling the xr apart over the coming week and I will be sticking bits and bobs up for sale so if anyone needs anything give me a shout.
Next step is to swap the rear beams and fuel tanks over and get the saff running
