Default How do i get my STD 3 door to "chatter"

Hiya, is it possible to remove the stock dump valve to make the car chatter? its only running standard boost, so what the best way to do it? Also, is it a good idea?

Cheers guys,
Mike

Remove dump valve and blank off both ends. Then either buy a cone filter and fit or drill a few holes on the BOTTOM section only of standard airbox. This should give you the required noise your looking for.

And it will do no harm at all.

its black, at the left hand side of the intercooler and joines to the hose that connects to the airbox, it is joined to the intercooler by a wee spout looking thing comming up from the cooler, hope that helps, its right by the slam pannel on the left of the amal valve

You will have 2 holes mate(1 off either side of dump valve).Blank off both either with a proper bung or use a sawn off piece of broom handle as it fits a treat. You will also have a smaller pipe that comes off the top of dump valve that runs around to the inlet manifold this needs to blanked off as well.

If you dont blank off all the pipes on dump valve you will cause a air leak and the car wont run smoothly if at all.

I don't think you'll get much chatter out of a standard Coss's psi imo

Back to the gunship thing, i was speaking to someone today about it, and apparantly it really pushes the standard injectors to the limit, is it a good idea?

you dont feel in at all, even in fifth really, but it just loses its pull
personally i'd advise you to go stage 3 mate,as by your comments you will always be worrying about your engine.thats not a dig dude, just seems that way to me.even though its as safe as any tuned engine can be.but then karl has spent many many hours on mine and tiff's getting it right
if you come to the essex meet tomorrow mate,i can take you out in mine

yeah, i am worried about it blowing, but only due to headgasket problems, thats all. are you running the gunship on yours then? as the gunship only give you 15bhp more, i may play it safe and go for the normal stg1. i should go down to him and speak to him properly about it when i get it done.

yes mate, but then mine and tiffs run slightly more boost than the average gunship, lol
you will defo need a grp a headgasket,or be prepared to have one fitted when it goes
you may be better off with a normal stage 1 conversion, you would be surprised the diference it makes just doing that

slap a set of light greens in it also for a bit more safety as they will fuel it upto 300 bhp

mate pops stage 1 gunship has been working well for a year now, cpould be more and he dont exaclty treat his car gentle

either do the gunship or get karl to live map it on light greens ( but then ya could just go stage 3 tbh and find its prob easier too
